John R. CORY, 81, retired Fountain County farmer died at 1:55 o’clock Friday morning at Culver Hospital after an illness of 4 days. His death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage. Mr. Cory was born March 6, 1867 in Fountain County, the son of David and Amanda Cory. Mr. Cory was married Sept 13, 1892 to Dolly Deborah Dove, who preceded him in death. For the past two years he had resided on the Country Club Road, west of Crawfordsville with BF Ward. One son, Chester Cory of Libertyville, Illinois survives. Two daughters also survive. Mrs. Crystal Thornton of Chicago and Mrs. Myrtle Gossner, of East St. Louis, Mo. Both daughters are graduates of Crawfordsville HS. There also are 3 grandchildren, David, Diana Lee and Marilyn Cory, all of Libertyville. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 o’clock Sunday afternoon at Centennial Church south of Veedersburg. Mr. Cory was a member of the Freedom Christian Church near Wallace. Dr. RG Reimann, pastor of the Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church will have charge of the services. Burial will be made in the cemetery near the Centennial Church. Friends may call at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home to pay their respects.
